What is a rough clean in post-construction cleaning?
A rough clean is the first pass, done while the building is still an active job site. Our crew gathers loose debris and packaging to the on-site dumpster, sweeps and vacuums drywall dust, wipes window frames, sills and ledges, and clears each area so the next trade starts on a clean floor. It is usually scheduled once drywall and the heavy trades are done and before final finishes go in.
What does a final construction clean-up include?
The final clean takes every surface from dusty to move-in ready: light fixtures, ledges, doors and frames, cabinets and shelving inside and out, plumbing fixtures, restrooms, glass and mirrors, labels and paint spatter on glass, and floors swept, vacuumed and mopped. The room-by-room list is on our post-construction cleaning checklist, and what post-construction cleaning includes explains each item.
What is a touch-up clean, and when is it scheduled?
The touch-up clean is the last pass, after punch-list work and right before turnover or a walk-through with the owner. Dust settles again, and punch trades leave fingerprints and floor marks, so the crew re-dusts, re-wipes glass and fixtures and re-does floors in the areas that were touched.
Who schedules a builders clean on an Austin job?
Usually the superintendent or project manager, phase by phase against the job schedule. We set each phase up with the site contact: which floors or suites are released, where debris goes, and what has to be done before inspection. Finish-out suites inside occupied buildings are covered on our tenant finish-out cleaning page.
How large a building can your crew clean?
Bailey & Bear Cleaning has cleaned commercial spaces in Austin since 2017. Our crew can clean over 70,000 square feet in a single night, and one account can cover up to 25 sites, so several active jobs can sit on one account.
What insurance do you carry for construction cleaning?
We carry general liability insurance, with a certificate of insurance (COI) on request. Most general contractors ask for the certificate before the first phase, so ask for it when you book the walk-through.
